Infront announces agreement with ESPN STAR Sports

02.02.05 -- Infront Sports & Media has reached an agreement with ESPN STAR Sports of Asia for the television and radio broadcast rights of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.

Zug, Switzerland, 2 February 2005 -- Infront Sports & Media has reached an agreement with ESPN STAR Sports of Asia for the television and radio broadcast rights of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ and a further agreement for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005.
 
ESPN STAR Sports has acquired a package of exclusive live and delayed television broadcast rights for all matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ via terrestrial, satellite and cable across the following territories in all local languages: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
 
ESPN STAR Sports has also acquired non-exclusive radio broadcast rights for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in the same territories and languages.
 
ESPN STAR Sports Managing Director, Rik Dovey said: "With our broadcast rights for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, ESPN STAR Sports offers the most comprehensive soccer coverage available in this region. No other sporting event captures the world's focus and imagination like the FIFA World Cup™ and this marks another step in our ongoing strategy to bring our viewers only the best must-see sports programming available."
