Infront signs Public TV Company of Armenia for FIFA events including 2006 FIFA World Cup™

Zug, Switzerland, 14 June 2005 -- Infront Sports & Media has announced a multiple broadcast rights agreement with public television broadcaster PTVC of Armenia, covering a number of FIFA events including next year's FIFA World Cup™ in Germany. The rights are exclusive for the territory of Armenia.
PTVC of Armenia has acquired the exclusive free-to-air broadcast rights for all 64 matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, which takes place from 9 June – 9 July 2006. All 64 matches will be shown on two terrestrial stations, First Channel and Nor Alik. It has also acquired exclusive broadcast rights for all matches of the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup, which kicks of on 15th June this year in Germany. This competition, which involves Confederation champions including Japan, Tunisia, Mexico, Argentina, Australia, Greece, the world champion Brazil and the host Germany, is an important international event in its own right, as well as a dress rehearsal for many aspects of the television coverage of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ a year later, including HDTV.
PCTV will also be broadcasting the annual FIFA World Player Gala in both 2005 and 2006. It has also purchased the exclusive rights to the Official Preview Series of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ for Armenia, which is being produced by Infront Sports & Media in association with FIFA (16 x 26-minute programmes).
